Question by SPAH: What would be a decent attribute of Judaism to use for creating a presentation?
Note that I’m not actually asking for help with/ answers for school work. It is a presentation for a class, but I’m just asking for ideas to help get me started.

I thought about using the differences between Judaism and Christianity (or both other Abrahamic religions), but realized that it might get kind of risque. I’ve also considered yarmulkes. It would probably be easy, but also not very exciting and possibly unimpressive.

do a study on the feast days/holidays

Passover, Sukkoth, Yom Kippur, Rosh hashannah etc. All or one of them.

Sabbath. It’s THE sign of the covenant, and touches many core aspects of Judaism. Check out http://www.aish.com/sh/ . There are also songs, good for a presentation.

I might be worth discussing the impact that Judaism has had on the world – being the foundation stone of Christianity and Islam. What these religions share in terms of common heritage.

Your gotten great answers so far! Speaking as a Jewish person.

I’d add the Jewish style of study – what Torah is plus including what Talmud is & how one studies it. I think other answers are easier to make a presentation out of.

    Thinking out loud….

Maybe something on Torah scrolls? How they’re made (complicated and interesting process), their role in services, how they’re treated and cared for by the community. If there’s a synagogue nearby, you might be able to arrange a visit to see one in person. This would be a rich, easily structured topic with lots of information available.

A bit harder, perhaps, might be something like a day in the life of someone who is your age and Jewish. You would cover many attributes of Judaism of course, so it might be a bit unwieldy for the project requirements. There might be a way to adapt the general idea to suit instead….
