About Conversion to Judaism

Hi! Rabbi Yitzi Miller here with a story about conversion to Judaism. Many people have heard the statement that someone who wishes to convert to Judaism should be turned away three times. But you know the greatest Jewish book of all time, the Talmud, recounts a story of two of the greatest Rabbis of all time, Rabbi Hillel and Rabbi Shammai who lived a little before the time of Jesus. The Talmud recounts that three people came to Rabbi Shammai interested in converting to Judaism and Rabbi Shammai turned them away impudently and judgementally. They then went to Rabbi Hillel one by one and Rabbi Hillel received them gently and patiently. At the end of the story the three come back together and they offer blessings to Rabbi Hillel who they say; “Welcomed us under the wings of God.” Sadly they also cursed Rabbi Shammai who they say; “tried to drive us out of this world.” I, and many Rabbis, would be honored to help you in your exploration of Judaism, whether for conversion or any purpose. And if you find yourself encountering a Rabbi who acts a little too much like Rabbi Shammai, well, trust your heart, trust your soul and know that Judaism welcomes you with open arms. Shalom!

Whileth Old Man In The Sky, claimeth he created you in his image. And franky, I am a programmer and know that consciousness cannot be programmed. So it must be the divine. And With God is purpose, and meaning, absolute morality, and sense. So yeah.. the first again.

@Ikesama Would you be worshipping a cow if you was brought up as a hindu in India? I think the answer is yes. People should not blindly accept the belief systems of their societies but let the evidence and facts lead them. Look at what science have achieved. The computer your sitting on, cars, planes, electricity, cellphones, modern medicine. Science works, religion just makes shit up and distracts people away from the truth: “We will reward you… when you’re DEAD!” I mean… Think for a minute

  10. olavm91 says:

@Ikesama The intellectual dishonesty you will only find in a religious person. “Why care about scientific truth?” Well, why keep believing in something that is in conflict with the hard facts? That’s just stupid. I might say that an all-powerful banana created the universe and that he wants to send you to cactus land for all eternity if you doesn’t worship a banana tree. That’s not in conflict with any evidence, which makes it more likely than your religion, but its still irrational and stupid.

  11. Ikesama says:

@olavm91 If I believe that god can do anything and has the power to do anything than why would I care about scientific truth ? I wouldn’t follow a helpless god who can’t follow his own rules.

@olavm91 who is the retard that made this, this site of yours implies that midst means in the middle, im not suprised of this as it only shows how envious islam haters are towards islam

  14. IntaCrock says:

@olavm91 Hei, Olav. Det er ikke feil, men noen folk kritiserer Islam stadig uten stopp. De har mistolket det, og prøver å finne argumenter til Islam.

  15. olavm91 says:

To all muslims: You believe that the Quran is sent word by word to Muhammad from the heavens. That means if you find ONE error or contradiction in that book, your religion is disproved. If you even dare to face the truth, you should google “scientific errors in the quran wikiislam” and check out the first link.

Beautiful video. Thanks. It helps us unite as a world community.

  17. eastariel says:

Nobody wants to be micro-managed. Nobody wants to be told their beliefs are wrong. Nobody wants to be arrested by the thought police.
In God’s garden, diversity thrives. In God’s garden, we must love one another. In God’s garden, there is room for us all.
So who’s wrong and who’s right? Can’t we all be honest about the way we see the world? How can we tell someone they don’t see what they see? We all see things differently. That’s what makes our worldwide community truth mural so fascinating.

  18. eastariel says:

Religions, no matter how perfect, are expressed through imperfect people.
Who among us has attained perfection? Our religions are no more perfect than we are.
    But they’re still beautiful.
Religions are magnificent, mysterious expressions of our connection to God. They are like the paint and canvas as we try to illustrate the face of God.
They’re fascinating, full of life like the ocean deep, once you look at them in depth.

@ChristyNiNe Hi Christy, my name is Ruben and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to giving me your view on Islam. Words tend not to convey one’s truth with peace. But maybe we can come close. Thank you.

  20. ChristyNiNe says:

This was VERY beautiful & in my studies where I have come to respect all religions and yet go beyond all religions to find the true inner spirituality of the infinitely refining expansive heart I have come to harmonize what each of these religions say. Only in a few nuances of words do I differ for the sshear knowledge of the consumptive natire or radiant nature of the individual words used. All inclusive as one directed words are best <3

I wish everyone would have a chance to see this. How similar our religions are to each other! It’s amazing.
